Intoxicating folk-jazz fusion meets whirling symphonic sounds and Balkan beats in Balkan Fever, an evening curated by charismatic conductor Kristjan Järvi as part of his new series of world music and jazz collaborations. In the first half, the LSO will bring to life the vibrant colours and hypnotic melodies of three folk-infused orchestral pieces, before being joined by a trio of eye-poppingly talented Balkan musicians, led by kaval-player (a traditional Balkan flute) Theodosii Spassov, for a one-off performance that brings all their sounds together.
