Paul Rissmann presenter
London Symphony Orchestra

Whizz around the globe with the London Symphony Orchestra and presenter Paul Rissmann to discover music that’s all about get-up-and-go. From John Adams’ futuristic Short Ride in a Fast Machine and the soaring sounds of 633 Squadron in full flight, to Mussorgsky’s Baba Yaga, the witch who skulks around in a hut on chicken legs (yes, really), come and find out if you have what it takes to keep up with the Orchestra…

The LSO Youth Choir will be on hand to sing rousing sea-shanties and guide us through the twists and turns of the London Underground in Paul Rissmann’s tube-themed audience participation song. Don’t forget your instrument!

***Submit your own Fast Machines!***
We're asking all kids out there to submit their own artwork inspired by John Adams' Short Ride in a Fast Machine (which you can hear here) and be in with a chance of having their creations projected above the Orchestra during the concert!

The drawings should be in colour, landscape orientation and sent via email, as either jpeg or PDF files, to isabel.bedford@lso.co.uk by Wednesday 11 June.

Audience Participation
The sheet music for Paul Rissmann's London Underground-inspired new piece, Tubes, is now ready to download! Get practising now to make the most of the fun on the day.

For instrumentalists, there are parts in all the different keys: pick the one that fits your instrument. Violins, flutes, oboes and guitars should look at C, violas at alto clef, cellos and bassoons at bass clef, clarinets and trumpets at B-flat, french horns at F and alto saxophones at E-flat.

Singers should take a look at the sheet music below (Verses 1 and 2) to get acquainted with the lyrics.

Finally, don't forget to click the audio tab above for an orchestral backing track (instrumentalists) and to practise singing along. Enjoy!
