MAHLER Symphony No 9

Daniel Harding conductor
London Symphony Orchestra

The LSO’s Principal Guest Conductor Daniel Harding directs another colossus of the Viennese symphonic repertoire, Mahler’s Ninth. Though essentially valedictory in tone, written when he knew his days were numbered, Mahler’s last completed symphony ranges through many shades of both light and darkness, even quoting a favourite waltz by Johann Strauss II, entitled Enjoy Life.
