Conexions - A musical celebration of Norway & the UK
UBS Soundscapes: Eclectica
Overview

Goat horns
Christian Wallumrød keyboards
Karl Seglem goat horns / poetry
Garth Knox viola / viola d’amore
An unconventional meeting of viola d’amore, goat horns and poetry is the stuff-of-fantasy collaboration conjured up by BBC Radio 3's Fiona Talkington as part of a vision to collide Norwegian and English musical traditions. Fiona first introduced keyboard player Christian Wallumrød to Garth Knox, viola, on her radio show Late Junction; the two later joined up with saxophonist and poet Karl Seglem. The resulting collaboration was first showcased in Oslo this March, to critical acclaim: now it's London's turn.
Featuring three star performers from the worlds of jazz, folk and classical (including viola player Garth Knox, whose album Saltarello recently shot to No 1 on Billboard’s Classical Traditional Chart), this promises to be a concert that really lives up to the 'Eclectica' name.
