Haydn dedicated his Trio in C major to the pianist Therese Bartolozzi, whose proficient skill is hinted towards in the demanding piano part. Ravel’s poetic work, written in 1914, explores the full spectrum of the piano trio’s sonority through instrumental effects including trills, glissandos and string harmonics.
