Overview

Mahler
Find out more about the life and music of Mahler with access to an LSO rehearsal and a chamber music session with senior Guildhall Musicians

Semyon Bychkov joins the LSO to rehearse Mahler’s Symphony No 1 ‘The Titan’. You will also get to hear Berg’s Violin Concerto, played by Leonidas Kavakos.
Unlike our Open Rehearsals, as part of the Discovery Day experience, audience members have the opportunity to observe the conductor and Orchestra from the Stalls, giving a unique and more intimate insight into the workings of an LSO rehearsal.*
2.30- 5.30pm, Jerwood Hall, LSO St Luke’s
Talk by Music historian and Mahler expert Dr Jeremy Barham on Mahler’s life and works, followed by a recital of a selection of Mahler Songs by Guildhall Musicians following their recent masterclass with Ian Bostridge.
*All events are subject to change without prior notice. Please be aware that the conductor may not rehearse the pieces in their entirety
Tickets: £17 (£13.50 concessions). Afternoon from 2.30pm: £12 (no concessions)
