Beethoven Series
Overview

Shai Wosner
BEETHOVEN Piano Sonata No 1 in F minor
BEETHOVEN Piano Sonata No 6 in F major
BEETHOVEN Piano Sonata No 18 in E flat major ('The Hunt')
Shai Wosner piano
Dedicated to his teacher, Joseph Haydn, Op 2 No 1’s brilliant virtuosity has made it a favourite show piece among emerging pianists. Beethoven gave his Op 10 No 2 to Countess Anna Margarete von Browne, whose husband enjoyed Beethoven’s music so much that he gave him a horse, which Beethoven promptly forgot all about until he received its large food bill. The otherwise gentle Op 31 No 3 earned the nickname ‘The Hunt’ for its highly charged finale.
