LSO Family Concert: Dogs Don't Do Ballet
Sun 26 Apr 2.30pm, Barbican
A family concert based on Anna Kemp’s hilarious 2010 book about puppy Biff and his preference for tutus over chew-toys. Plus, fun free pre-concert activities (including a book signing with Anna) and a chance to bring your instrument and join in.
£5 under-18s, £10 adults

Free Friday Lunchtimes: Summer Series

Award-winning presenter Rachel Leach, together with LSO and Guildhall School musicians, guides all ages through the wonderful world of classical music in these informal 45-minute performances which also include a Q&A session. This series ties in with the LSO International Violin Festival and features performances by LSO Leader Roman Simovic and the Orchestra's resident fashionista and member of the first violin section Maxine Kwok-Adams.

Inside Out

A series of free Friday concerts on the lawns of LSO St Luke's, with music from all genres. Bring a picnic and enjoy the summer sunshine with Siemy Di's energetic blend of African and Indian percussion, the vocal gymnastics of Randolph Matthews and perennial family-favourites Mrs H and the Sing-along Band.

Pictures in Music

Every year, the LSO shares the Barbican stage with individuals, old and young, who've taken part in education and community projects throughout the season the results are always spectacular and frequently bring a tear to the eye! This concert is based on Mussorgsky's epic Pictures at an Exhibition.

Music Storytelling for Under-5s

Vanessa King, our Early Years expert, and LSO musicians re-tell a popular children's story through music, offering younger children the chance to dance and sing their way through live music in the beautiful Jerwood Hall.

Suitable for children aged 4+
Become a super sleuth and help the City of London Police track down criminals by learning how to search for clues at a crime scene, gather evidence, dust for fingerprints etc. Younger children can also enjoy dressing up and testing out equipment.

Brian in the Jungle

Story reading and activity with author Frank Bailey. Brian thinks everyone is a dog... can you help him? Follow him on his adventure as he meets lots of different jungle animals, then create your own jungle scene with Brian as the main character.

Join the Friends of City Gardens and make some fun things to decorate your window box or grow using recycled materials and tasty cress.
