Primary Key Stage Concerts

LSO Schools Concerts are designed especially for Key Stages 1 and 2, which take place each term at the Barbican Centre. Each concert features the LSO and is presented by an LSO Animateur.

The programmes include interesting and lively repertoire, as well as a participation song written especially for each Key Stage Concert. Teacher INSET sessions are included in the ticket price. They are held around six weeks before each concert and are highly recommended and very popular. At the INSET, teachers are introduced to specially written classroom projects, extension tasks, and learn the best and easiest ways to teach their children the participation songs. Teachers also receive a Project Pack, recordings of the participation songs, and help preparing their children for the concert.

Key Stage Concert booking now takes place by email. Please email schoolsconcerts@lso.co.uk with your school’s contact details if you would like to be added to the booking mailing list.

Key Stage 1 Concerts - Summer term

Due to an extra date in Spring term, we will not be running Key Stage 1 concerts in the summer term.

Key Stage 2 Concerts - (Sold out)

Pictures at an Exhibition - Monday 29 June 2015; 10.40am and 12pm.

Join Rachel Leach and the London Symphony Orchestra for a wander through Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition.

Inspired by his friend Viktor Hartmann's artwork, Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky wrote musical pictures and placed them in a virtual musical gallery. As we Promenade through his gallery we'll discover just how Mussorgsky and his orchestrator Ravel brought Hartmann's pictures to life in sound. Along the way we'll meet an ugly gnome, tiny un-hatched chicks, skeletons beneath Paris and a truly terrifying witch!

This concert has now sold out. If you wish to be on our waiting list, or have any questions about the concerts or the status of your application, please email schoolsconcerts@lso.co.uk.
