Beethoven
Find out more about the life and music of Beethoven with access to an LSO rehearsal and a chamber music session with LSO players.
10am-1pm, Barbican Hall*
Join Sir Colin Davis and the London Symphony Orchestra as they rehearse Beethoven’s Symphony No 7 and Piano Concerto No 3 with Jonathan Biss, followed by Vlad Maistorovici’s Halo (2009 Panufnik 10-minute Commission) conducted by Clemens Schuldt, winner of the Donatella Flick Conducting Competition.
Unlike our Open Rehearsals, as part of the Discovery Day experience, audience members have the opportunity to observe the conductor and Orchestra from the Stalls, giving a unique and more intimate insight into the workings of an LSO rehearsal.
2.30- 5.30pm, Jerwood Hall, LSO St Luke’s
Talk by LSO Animateur Rachel Leach followed by a recital of
Beethoven’s String Quartet No 8 in E minor, Op 59 No 2 ('Rasumovsky'), plus a Q&A session with Rachel Leach and the LSO players.

*Please note that the conductor may choose to not use the full rehearsal time and we cannot guarantee that equal rehearsal time will be given to each piece.
Tickets: £16 (£12.50 concessions). Afternoon from 2.30pm: £10 (no concessions)
