Baiba Skride performs Bartok’s vibrant Second Concerto, full of Hungarian spice. Up-and-coming Ossetian-born conductor Tugan Sokhiev has recorded several Tchaikovsky symphonies. He makes his LSO debut with the dark-hued Fourth, Tchaikovsky’s personal confrontation with Fate.
Change of soloist
Midori has been advised by her doctor not to travel and has been forced to withdraw from the LSO’s concert at the Barbican on Thursday 30 April 2015.
We are extremely grateful to Baiba Skride for agreeing to step in at short notice to play Bartók’s Violin Concerto No 2. The programme for the concert remains unchanged.
