Tech equipment at LSO St Luke's

Technical & Stage Facilities

LSO St Luke’s has a wide range of technical equipment available to hire as well as links with a number of recommended sound, lighting and audio-visual equipment suppliers.

The building’s internal technological infrastructure will support and carry music, video and information throughout the building and to the outside world. Internet connections can be requested in all spaces.

The Jerwood Hall has an excellent PA system, suitable for speeches, playback as well as a range of performance and entertainment requirements. A flexible mixing house light system, architectural design features and production lighting theatre rig offer high quality design solutions befitting the beautiful Grade 1 listed building surroundings.

Most hire packages include:

  • Basic warm white house lighting and stage lighting to illuminate the platform
  • Decorative lighting package upgrades including colour mixing house lights providing even and flexible illumination of the main hall floor
  • One cabled microphones for speeches

Our Technical Team

LSO St Luke’s can supply technicians to operate sound, lighting and/or audio-visual equipment during events. The cost of one technician to supervise and support the use of in-house equipment is built into most venue hire packages. Please outline your event and production needs as part of your enquiry.

Our technical team are experienced in preparing sound and lighting for concerts, conferences, formal dinners and evening parties and can advise you about designing and theming your event. You should discuss your requirements with our Technical Manager at least one month in advance of your event, following which you will receive a proposed technical specification with costings (guide prices are available on application).

LSO St Luke’s has an audio and video cable infrastructure to suit many requirements, including those events for which professional recording equipment is brought in by an external company. Our technical team can recommend recording companies or freelance engineers and producers with whom we have worked on successful events in the past.

Delivery & Collection

Access for the delivery and collection of equipment is at the rear of the building on Mitchell Street (accessible from Old Street via Central Street). From here, access to the Jerwood Hall via the Artists’ Entrance is at one level and access to the Kitchen, Crypt Café and Clore Rooms is via a goods lift just inside the Artists’ Entrance. If required, limited parking is available on Mitchell Street (by prior arrangement only). Please note that we have an external noise curfew of 2300–0800, and any supplier load outs after 2300 need to take place the following morning.
