Alastair Blayden enjoys a musical life that is as wide as it is varied. Since studying at the Royal College of Music where he was a scholar with William Pleeth, he has performed or recorded music ranging from Haydn’s Quartets (Dante Quartet) to John Williams’ sound track for Star Wars, and has performed extensively as a member of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.
He also regularly broadcasts for BBC Radio 3 with the Dante Quartet. As a student he was privileged to have studied chamber music with the Amadeus Quartet and the Borodin Quartet in collaboration with Rostropovich.
