Connor Gingell

Tuba, Royal College of Music

Born in Bolton, Connor picked up the tuba at the age of eleven. He is currently a Micheal Quinn Scholarship holder studying at the Royal College of Music, under Peter Smith, Daniel Trodden and James Buckle. He has worked with professional orchestras throughout the UK.

 

As well as being an LSO Conservatoire Scholar, he is currently the tuba player on both the Orpheus Sinfonia foundation programme and the London Philhamonic Orchestra Foyle Future Firsts programme. He has previously been on schemes with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the English National Opera and London Sinfonietta.

 

During his time at the Royal College of Music he has won the solo tuba prize four times, the brass chamber prize on two occasions and has also been a finalist in the concerto competition twice.
