Csilla Pogány studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School with Natasha Boyarsky and at Universität Salzburg Mozarteum with Igor Ozim. During these formative years she also participated in solo masterclasses with Zachar Bron, Anna Chumachenko and Ruggiero Ricci going on to become a prize winner at both the Kloster Schöntal and Andrea Postacchini international violin competitions.
She received chamber music coaching from Mstislav Rostropovich, Ferenc Rados and the Hagen Quartet whilst pursuing her passion in jazz through studies with Benjamin Schmid.
For many years she played both first and second violin with Camerata Salzburg, was member of Gewandhausorchester Leipzig (first violin), played with Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and lead Tiroler Symphony Orchestra Innsbrück.
She has also regularly guested with Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra (first violin), Bamberger Symphoniker (first violin) and as principal second violin at London Philharmonic Orchestra.
