Ginette Decuyper

‘When I was a teenager, my best friend presented me with my first LSO record, The Empire Strikes Back by composer John Williams. From the first bar, I was so bowled over, I just knew that I had to become part of that orchestra one day!’
Born in Belgium, Ginette Decuyper studied the violin at the Royal Conservatory of Liège and graduated from the Queen Elisabeth Musical Chapel in Brussels, before going to Indiana University to complete her formation under the guidance of Professor Josef Gingold. She is a prize winner of several international competitions, including Geneva and Lisbon. She regularly coaches youth orchestras at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra at the Festival of Aix-en-Provence. She became a director of the Arch Sinfonia in 2015.
