Iohan Coman is a distinguished violinist currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London under the tutelage of So-Ock Kim. His musical journey is marked by exceptional training and performances, enriched by masterclasses and lessons with esteemed violinists and conductors such as Emmanuel Tjeknavorian, Hilary Hahn, Noah Bendix-Balgley, Anthony Marwood, Dumitru Goia, Remus Azoitei, Luke Hsu, Jack Liebeck and Hubert Kroisamer.

Iohan’s performance portfolio includes notable appearances and accolades. He has led the Royal Academy of Music Chamber Orchestra under Trevor Pinnock and performed alongside the London Philharmonic Orchestra in a side-by-side concert led by Edward Gardner. His solo performances have graced prestigious venues like Wigmore Hall and Milton Court in London, featuring works such as Piazzolla’s Seasons.

In February, Iohan performed with the Chamber Orchestra alongside Barbara Hannigan, and in May, he delivered a solo performance at Wigmore Hall. His dedication and talent have earned him the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Emily Anderson Prize. Other remarkable performances include his participation in Mahler’s Symphony No 3 with Semyon Bychkov at the Royal Festival Hall, and a workshop on Haydn Symphony with Sir Simon Rattle.

He was also recently awarded the Countess of Munster Trust, further recognizing his outstanding musical abilities and commitment to his craft. Iohan Coman plays a Cuypers violin kindly loaned to him through the Beare’s International Violin Society by a generous sponsor.
