Ivan Rogachev
Clarinet, Royal Academy of Music
Ivan Rogachev is a clarinetist, balancing his diverse practice between solo, orchestral and chamber music.
As an orchestral musician, Ivan won a position at the Britten-Shostakovich Festival Orchestra in 2019 and a solo clarinet position at London Sinfonietta Academy in 2020. In 2021, he won a principal position in the Russian National Youth Orchestra. He has performed with professional orchestras including the Southbank Sinfonia, London Sinfonietta, St Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra and Tolyatti Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2019 Ivan embarked on a full scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music, studying under Christopher Richards, Benjamin Mellefont and Mark Van de Wiel, graduating with a First-Class Honors and a Regency award for Excellence. During his studies, he won the prestigious Hattori Foundation Senior Award, the Cherubim Trust Foundation Award and won first prize at the Buffet-Crampon Competition at the Royal Academy of Music. He has been awarded a ‘Special Talent’ diploma at Brugges clarinet Festival in 2019 for the solo performance. In 2022, he was awarded the Drake Calleja Trust scholarship.
Ivan has already performed and collaborated widely within the UK. Since the age of 16 Ivan has been performing with the St Petersburg House of Music and has been performing chamber music and solo concerts in the most prestigious halls, in Russia and internationally.
In addition to his LSO Conservatoire Scholarship, Ivan is supported in his studies by The Hill Foundation, the Hattori Foundation, the Drake Calleja Trust, the Gartow Foundation and the Royal Academy of Music.
