Presented in a fun and informative way, LSO Family Concerts feature the whole London Symphony Orchestra playing music based on a theme. Everyone has the chance to get involved by playing or singing along with the audience participation piece. There are three concerts each year at the Barbican.
Pre-Concert Activities & Crèche
There are free creative pre-concert activities on the Barbican Foyers before every concert. These differ for each concert, but you will usually get the opportunity to meet LSO players and take part in musical activities. Pre-concert activities are very popular, and operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
A crèche is available during the concert for children under the age of 7. Free places must be booked in advance.

‘It was wonderful to experience this together as a family. My child came away feeling that experiencing music is fun and interesting, musicians and instruments and conductors are awe inspiring, and we loved that music was also used to tell fascinating stories.’ – Family Concert audience member
