Leon and the Place Between
A free interactive concert for families and schools, inspired by the magical book by Angela McAllister and illustrated by Grahame Baker-Smith, with performances by LSO musicians, resources to download, and the chance to sing and play along.
Join presenter and composer Paul Rissmann and the London Symphony Orchestra for an online concert that delves into the book Leon and the Place Between, written Angela McAllister and illustrated by Grahame Baker-Smith.
Rissmann’s musical setting brings to life the characters of the book and transports us all to the magical Place Between. The online concert, conducted by Jonathan Bloxham also explores how composers tell a story using the instruments of the orchestra and features music by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Elena Kats-Chernin, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Richard Strauss and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Get stuck into the music through digital resources for teachers and families, and learn the songs so you can join in at home.
