LSO Create Open Rehearsals

A chance for individuals and groups of adults with learning disabilities, their supporters and carers to hear the London Symphony Orchestra rehearsing in the Barbican Hall.

You’ll get a sneak-peak into how a professional orchestra works – the orchestra may stop and start and it’s more relaxed than attending an evening concert. As the orchestra is working, we ask that everyone tries to be as quiet as possible and refrains from clapping. We understand you may need to leave the hall during a rehearsal and you are welcome to do so during a loud section of music, or when the orchestra stops playing.

Most rehearsals take place during the week from 10am–1pm. Attendees are welcome to leave the rehearsal during the break (approximately halfway through the rehearsal). These rehearsals are very popular and spaces are limited.

If you or someone you care for has a learning disability, or if you organise cultural visits from day centres, you can book places by contacting Celia Wynne Willson:
