On Thursday 11 December, film composer Alexandre Desplat joins the LSO to conduct us through a selection of some of his most iconic scores, including The King's Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Grand Budapest Hotel and more.
We've worked with Alexandre on over 25 soundtracks since 2000 but this is the first time that he'll be appearing with us in concert, so we asked film music expert and broadcaster Tim Burden to put together a little preview. There's extracts from some of his scores as well as an interview where he talks about what it's like to work with the London Symphony Orchestra on making film music. You can listen to the whole podcast below or on our Soundcloud page.
Alexandre will also be interviewed by Charlotte Green on her Classic FM show this Sunday (7 December) at 3pm. You'll be able to listen online live, and on demand later on the Classic FM website.
And if you still haven't bought your tickets to see LSO on Film 2014: The Magic and Majesty of Alexandre Desplat, then get yourself over to the events page now - there's only a few seats remaining!
