The London Symphony Chorus and the Verdi Requiem

In September 2016, the London Symphony Chorus joined the Orchestra for a performance of Verdi's Requiem, a work that the Chorus have been performing for over 50 years. Two special performances opened the LSO's 2016/17 season, marked the beginning of Gianandrea Noseda's tenure as LSO Principal Guest Conductor, and formed part of the LSC's 50th anniversary celebrations.

Founded in 1966, the London Symphony Chorus has a long history of performing Verdi's theatrical Requiem. In the same year they celebrated their 50th anniversary, we took a look at some of the most memorable performances in the Chorus' history.
