ROBY LAKATOS ENSEMBLE AND THE LONDON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PERFORM AN EVENING OF GYPSY-INSPIRED MUSIC CONDUCTED BY KRISTJAN JÄRVI

The London Symphony Orchestra is joined by leading Romani violinist Roby Lakatos and his Ensemble on 5 March in Dance of the Gypsy Violin, a concert featuring music which explores the violin’s wilder side through an array of Hungarian and Gypsy-inspired tunes, conducted by Kristjan Järvi. The programme will include Brahms’ Rondo alla zingarese, Kodály’s Háry János Suite, Sarasate’s Zigeunerweisen and more.

The London Symphony Orchestra was greatly saddened to learn of the death over the weekend of 10/11 January 2015 of Contessa Yoko Ceschina, a loyal supporter of the Orchestra and a generous patron of music and the arts across the world.

Jonathan Moulds, philanthropist, awarded CBE for services to the LSO
LSO supporter Jonathan Moulds has been awarded a CBE for services to philanthropy in the New Year’s Honours list 2015.
Managing Director of the LSO, Kathryn McDowell, said: 'Jonathan Moulds has been on the LSO’s Board of Directors since 2005. He is Chair of the Orchestra’s Development Board, Advisory Council and Moving Music Campaign, and has been a patron of the LSO since 2001, making the largest single gift in the Orchestra’s history in 2012. We are very proud that his long service to the LSO has been recognised in this way.'
