Singapore & Australia tour


Singapore and Australia Tour
17–30 November 2014

For the first time in 30 years the Orchestra will visit Australia on this 2-week trip that also takes in Singapore. Principal Conductor Valery Gergiev will conduct Russian works from his homeland, and pianist Denis Matsuev will perform piano concertos by Rachmaninov and Prokofiev.

Alexandre Desplat conducts the London Symphony Orchestra in a concert featuring some of his best known film music at the Barbican on 11 December. French composer Desplat is one of Hollywood’s most sought after film score writers and has a close relationship with the LSO, widely regarded as one of the world’s finest film orchestras. They will perform music from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The King's Speech, The Queen, Philomena, Argo, The Imitation Game, Twilight: New Moon, Fantastic Mr Fox, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Coco before Chanel, Girl with a Pearl Earring, many of which were originally recorded by the LSO.
