Obituary: Harry Rabinowitz (1916–2016)


The LSO is sad to hear of the death of conductor and composer Harry Rabinowitz on 22 June 2016.

Born in South Africa, Harry Rabinowitz came to the UK in the 1940s and soon established himself within the industry, rubbing shoulders with the singing stars of the day as a music director at the BBC’s Light Entertainment division and as head of music at London Weekend Television.

Obituary: Sir Robert Finch (1944–2016)


The LSO was sad to hear of the death of Sir Robert Finch on Thursday 31 March 2016. Sir Robert was a long-time supporter of the Orchestra, and was awarded an Honorary Membership in 2004 in recognition of his significant contribution to the LSO.
