The LSO is saddened to hear of the death of three former players.
Originally from Australia, Ian McDonough was a member of the LSO from 1982. He was Sub Principal Second Violin from 1984–85 and retired in 2004. He died, aged 80, on 26 December 2019 after an illness of several months.
The LSO's Principal Viola from 1956–1965, Simon Streatfeild has passed away at the age of 90. He moved to Vancouver, Canada in 1965, playing with and conducting various orchestras in that country.
Eric Bowie was a Member of the LSO First Violin section from 1963–65. He died at the age of 90 in France, where he had lived for many years.
