Contessa Yoko Ceschina
The London Symphony Orchestra was greatly saddened to learn of the death over the weekend of 10/11 January 2015 of Contessa Yoko Ceschina, a loyal supporter of the Orchestra and a generous patron of music and the arts across the world.
A trained classical harpist, Yoko supported a large number of classical music organisations including the Mariinsky Theatre, the New York Philharmonic and Carnegie Hall, as well as the London Symphony Orchestra. She also held close relationships with some of the world’s leading artists, most notably with LSO Principal Conductor Valery Gergiev.
Yoko was a wonderful friend of the LSO for many years, offering generous support to the organisation as a whole and also to the players themselves. She will be greatly missed.
Our deepest sympathies are with Yoko’s friends and family at this time.
