Music to Touch the Soul

This is the end

Mahler 9: an elegy, a eulogy, an ovation

Tue 23 May 2017 7.30pm, Barbican

Mahler left this work to us like a gift, like he knew all along he would never live to hear it performed. This is no longer music: it’s a journey for the soul, and a chance to embrace our own end with the hope that what lies beyond can be beautiful, assuring and bright.

A leap of faith

Bruckner’s last will and testament

Sun 28 May 2017 7pm, Barbican
