Students from Haberdashers’ Elstree Schools explore the boundaries of chamber music, traversing a diverse range of musical styles and traditions.
Juxtaposing music from the great pantheon of classical and romantic chamber music against original compositions and collaborations with musicians schooled in other traditions, this concert asks what is at the heart of being a musician in a chamber setting and what new voice can these students find within it.
Whilst celebrating established work and the great composers, this programme also aims to reflect that the principal of sharing music in small groups should not be restricted to traditional forms. Something more exciting can perhaps be found by colliding our different influences and backgrounds, a unique programme that can be in equal parts beautiful and surprising.
