The Concert
Kick-start your evening with a 60-minute Half Six Fix concert. Introduced by the performers, with screens in the hall to bring you closer to the action.
The Music
Vaughan Williams’ First Symphony is his most immense and is appropriately awestruck by the power of nature right from the opening phrase: ‘Behold – the sea itself!’. Walt Whitman’s poetry and Vaughan Williams’ surging orchestration depict the sea in all its variety, strength, and beauty.
The Performers
Sir Antonio Pappano and the LSO are joined by two brilliant soloists, with a mighty contribution from the London Symphony Chorus, who sing through nearly the entirety of this magnificent work.
It’s about the sea in every way. Its beauty, its majesty, its grander, its danger, its metaphysicality, the images that it conjures up.

Refunds and Exchanges
Contact the Box Office at least 24 hours before the performance (two weeks for group bookings) to exchange your tickets for another LSO concert or Barbican credit voucher, valid for six months. A per-ticket administration fee applies.
The LSO reserves the right to change artists or programmes if necessary. In the unlikely event of a cancellation, all bookers will receive a refund.
