Donald Runnicles, Chief Conductor of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, joins the London Symphony Chorus and LSO for this all-French programme. Debussy’s masterly marine portrait inspired by his observations of the English Channel, and the meditative and intensely moving Requiem by Duruflé are coupled with a fascinating insight into Debussy’s early development, his Symbolist cantata The Blessed Damozel, based on a poem by Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
