Pablo Heras-Casado was named 2014 Conductor of the Year by Musical America. The young Spanish-born conductor studied with Harry Christophers and Christopher Hogwood, and is now Principal Conductor of the Orchestra of St Luke’s. In the last concert of the International Violin Festival he joins forces with US virtuoso Joshua Bell, making a welcome return to the Barbican, in Sibelius’s sublime Concerto, coupled with Berlioz’s ground-breaking programmatic symphony inspired by hopeless passion.
