Join conductor François-Xavier Roth in a morning Barbican rehearsal, including an interview on stage with speaker Stephen Johnson. This is followed by an afternoon at LSO St Luke's. During the afternoon we will be exploring the Romantic idea of the Hero with Stephen Johnson, and there will be chamber music by Webern performed by a string quartet from the LSO.
10am–1pm: Attending the LSO rehearsal, Barbican Hall
If you have booked for the full day, the first event is an opportunity to watch the LSO rehearse for the evening performance conducted by François-Xavier Roth. The rehearsal will contain the following works: Webern's Im Sommerwind, Berg's Violin Concerto with Renaud Capuçon and Strauss's Ein Heldenleben.
1–1.30pm: On-stage interview
At the end of the rehearsal, presenter Stephen Johnson will speak to conductor François-Xavier Roth about the programme.
3–5pm: Talk and chamber music, LSO St Luke’s 161 Old Street EC1V 9NG
A talk and Q & A session with Stephen Johnson, followed by chamber music performed by LSO musicians.

5.30pm: LSO Platforms: Guildhall Artists, Barbican Hall
At 5.30pm you are welcome to attend a free pre-concert chamber music performance in the Barbican Hall with performers from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, performing works by Berg.
