Take a plunge into the Finnish mentality! Find the source of their secret passion and eternal melancholia.

The music in Tango Alakulo - Lunar Eclipse has elements of traditional tango, but it is first and foremost urban music of our time. It fuses tricks and techniques of modern concert and popular music with the improvisatory aesthetics of jazz.

This concert will feature Finnish tangos, new pieces by Veli Kujala, and Sibelius as you’ve never heard him before, all performed by LSO double bassist Jani Pensola and his group Tango Alakulo, plus Jani's colleagues from the LSO string section.
