Part of the 2017/18 season
Veronika Eberle arrived on the New Generation Artist scheme in 2010 with a powerful document in her portfolio: a warm letter of recommendation from Sir Simon Rattle, with whom she had already performed the Beethoven Concerto with the Berlin Philharmonic at the 2006 Salzburg Easter Festival at the age of only 17.
Her later performance of the same piece with Sir Simon and the LSO in London was praised by The Guardian for its ‘exceptionally delicate dynamics’, and her work in the studio was equally memorable with its tastefully nurtured tone and close attention to details of shape and line. Good qualities all for a Bach player, as we will surely discover in this concert in which she explores highlights of the Baroque violin repertoire.
As well as presenting a series of concerts at LSO St Luke’s, BBC Radio 3 is in residence at the Barbican for This is Rattle, hosting exhibitions and interactive workshops, including the opportunity to try your hand at producing your own radio show.
