Open Ear presents music from the leading edge of the UK’s contemporary scene. Alternative, experimental and hosted in-the-round by Sara Mohr-Pietsch.

Immerse yourself in the rich and varied sound-world of contemporary music with The Riot Ensemble (pictured) as they explore abstract and energetic music by Chaya Czernowin, Amy Beth Kirsten and Clara Iannotta. Then hear from Liam Byrne as he fuses music for baroque viol with live electronics, and Charles Mitchener (Elaine Mitchener and Neil Charles), who perform wild and mesmerising improvisations for the voice and double bass.

Recorded for future broadcast by BBC Radio 3
