Three finalists tackle a daring programme in the hopes of being crowned winner and named LSO Assistant Conductor.
Be the first to see the stars of the future as they compete in the Grand Final of the biennial Donatella Flick LSO Conducting Competition. Created by Donatella Flick in 1990, the competition helps talented young conductors establish an international conducting career, bridging the gap between training and professional life – with previous winners including LSO Principal Guest Conductor François-Xavier Roth.
The three finalists will be judged by a panel of internationally renowned performers, and will conduct a challenging programme of some of the most iconic orchestral repertoire. For the first time in the competition they will also be joined onstage by a soloist, with Vadim Repin performing Prokofiev’s Second Violin Concerto.
Tickets for the final will also allow entry into the earlier rounds at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama on 20 & 21 November and to the final rehearsals at the Barbican Hall on 22 November:
Round 1 – Tue 20 Nov 10am-1pm & 2.30-5.30pm, Milton Court
Round 2 – Wed 21 Nov 10am-1pm & 2.30-5.30pm, Milton Court
Final rehearsals – Thu 22 Nov 10.30am-1.30pm & 2.30-5.30pm, Barbican
