Want to know more about classical music but not sure where to start? Make the most of your lunchbreak and enjoy a free, 45-minute informal concert from LSO St Luke’s. There will be introductions from our presenter, who will tell you more about the music and the instruments, and you’ll have the chance to ask the musicians your own burning questions.

Our relaxed performances are open and welcoming to all, and are especially suited to audience members who may prefer a more relaxed performance style, including people with autism, sensory and communication impairments, and learning disabilities.

We hope you will join us either as a member of the socially distanced audience at LSO St Luke's, or from the comfort of your own home where you'll be free to move and make as much sound as you like! There will also be the opportunity to express your own creativity during the concert, so have your paints, pens or other art materials to hand if you're watching from home.

Live stream

This concert will also be streamed live on the LSO YouTube channel, and will be available on demand afterwards.

The broadcast features an adapted BSL interpretation which will include more visual and gestural elements, and live captioning will be provided by StageText. There will also be accessible digital programme notes available to download in advance or on the day.

Need to know

We are doing everything we can to make your visit safe and enjoyable. Below are answers to some FAQs, and you can find further information here.

How are seats at LSO St Luke's arranged?

The Jerwood Hall has been configured for social distancing with fewer seats available, set as single tickets or in groups of twos. Clusters are separated by at least one empty seat and people from different household groups will be at least 1 metre apart from each other when seated. We ask you to not swap seats so we can maintain a safe distance between you and other groups.

What other safety measures are in place once inside?

  • Staff and audience members must wear a face covering inside LSO St Luke's at all times unless exempt.
  • Seats in the Jerwood Hall are laid out at a safe distance from each other.
  • The hall and each seat will be cleaned between performances.
  • A one-way system is in operation so you can move safely through the venue.
  • Hand sanitising stations are positioned at the entrance and around the building.
  • Programme notes are now solely digital and donation points use contactless technology.
  • Each member of every party of visitors is being asked to provide their name and contact details, and retaining these details for 21 days, in compliance with NHS Test & Trace.
  • An official NHS QR code poster is displayed at the entrance to the venue, so visitors can 'check in' on the NHS Test & Trace app.
  • Audience members are asked not to arrive earlier than 30 minutes before concerts.

What happens if a concert is cancelled or postponed?

In the event of cancellations or postponements, all audience members will be notified in advance.

What if I or someone I know develops Coronavirus symptoms before the concert?

Please stay at home if you are experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19 or if you’ve recently been in contact with someone who has the virus. Tickets can be exchanged for another concert or credit vouchers valid for six months.
