Experience the spectacle of a live symphony orchestra as the LSO and presenter Lucy Hollins explores the roots and origins of folk music. Immerse yourself in the rhythms and melodies of folk music and learn how composers, like Bartok, used these tunes as the basis for their music.
Following the relaxation of Government restrictions, from the start of the 2021/22 season seating will no longer be socially-distanced in the Barbican Hall. We encourage audience members to bring and wear a face covering, unless you are exempt. Please note that as we come out of the pandemic, we are offering a reduced number of pre-concert workshop activities for the safety of all audience members, artists and staff.

Start times: 12.15pm / 1.00pm / 1.45pm
Warm up your voices ahead of the concert in these energetic singing workshops to learn the participation song, ‘The Hungry Yeti’ with Suzzie Vango.
These timed workshops have a strict limited capacity and places must be pre-booked. Concert-goers will receive a link to book places a few days before the concert.

Please note there is no instrumental participation in the concert. During the concert we'll be asking you to sing along with the Orchestra in our specially written audience song, ‘The Hungry Yeti’!
