May & June 2021 Concerts

We are delighted to announce details of the LSO’s performances in May and June 2021,
which we hope will be our first concerts to take place on the Barbican stage
in front of a live audience for over a year. We are looking forward to welcoming back
Music Director Simon Rattle, Conductor Laureate Michael Tilson Thomas and
Principal Guest Conductor François-Xavier Roth, and soloists Yuja Wang and Patricia Kopatchinskaja,
for programmes ranging from Beethoven to new music premieres.

Following the government’s announcement of its roadmap to the easing of lockdown restrictions,
the Barbican hopes to open its doors to the public again on 17 May. Before lockdown,
95% of visitors to the Barbican said they felt safe or very safe in the venue;
please see this page for more information about the measures in place.
We hope that our audiences members will join us again for these special performances.

These concerts will also be recorded for future broadcast.
Please keep an eye on our website and social media for further updates.
During this time there will also be some concerts which are online only events.
