The Concert

Our relaxed concerts are tailored for people who have sensory and communication impairments, or who are neurodiverse. Everyone over the age of 5 who feels more comfortable attending concerts in an easy-going environment is welcome.

This short concert will introduce you to orchestral instruments and chamber music. Friendly introductions from our presenter will guide you through the concert, and large print programmes are available for free. There is a chance to ask questions in the Q&A session.

While our venue LSO St Luke’s is closed for a programme of works and upgrades for much of 2025, we’re taking LSO Discovery on tour all over London. For this concert, we’re visiting our neighbours in the City at St Giles Cripplegate – just over the lakeside from the Barbican, where the LSO is Resident Orchestra.

Not suitable for under-5s. Please note date.

Your Visit

Doors open at 12pm. These events are popular, and unreserved seating is limited, so we recommend arriving in good time to secure your place.

Visitors with access requirements, or attending in a group of 10+, are encouraged to reserve seats so we can ensure your visit is as smooth as possible. For more information, or to discuss access requirements before you book, please email community@lso.co.uk.

Access Information

The church is all on one ground-floor level, with a ramp to enter. Extra space will be made available for wheelchair users / those with physical accessibility requirements as needed.

There will be BSL interpretation, including more visual and gestural elements. Accessible programme notes are also available.

There is an accessible toilet available inside the church. There will also be a RevoLOO mobile toilet with hoist and changing table on site for this event. Please bring your own sling if you wish to use the hoist.

As toilet facilities are limited, there is also access to the non-accessible toilets at Wood Street Bar and Restaurant, adjacent to the church, for audience members without accessibility requirements.

Food and Drink

There is no café area available at St Giles Cripplegate, so we are unable to accommodate bookings to have lunch in the space before or after the concert. We therefore recommend eating before or after attending this event.

There are some cafés and restaurants nearby. Wood Street Bar and Restaurant is located opposite and adjacent to the church, seconds away. It can be accessed by wheelchair users but does not have its own accessible toilet.

Barbie Green is a 5-minute walk away, is accessible by wheelchair users and has its own fully accessible toilet.

Belongings

Please note that there is no cloakroom available. You can keep your belongings with you, on or under your chair and/or wheelchair.
